Brave Hands, Tiny Beasts in Reception!

This week, Reception welcomed some very special mini-beast visitors!  The children were incredibly brave and enjoyed the chance to get up close with a fascinating range of creatures. They stroked a katydid (bush cricket), felt the tummy of a tarantula, and even held a giant African land snail, stick insects and several different beetles.

The children showed our visitor great respect throughout the visit, listening carefully to her instructions on how to handle the animals safely.  They were full of curiosity and asked thoughtful questions as she shared many amazing facts about each creature. Staff were extremely proud of how brave, sensible and respectful the children were during this exciting experience.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning opportunity and one the children will remember for a long time!
