A Special Visit from Our Local MP!

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Dave Robertson, to school.  He joined our Celebration Assembly and shared a special handshake with our award winners, making the occasion even more memorable. He also met with our Pupil Board to     discuss his role and to show his support for our ongoing campaign to improve the safety for our children and families during drop-off and collection times.

During the meeting, the MP discussed possible actions he could take and the support he may be able to offer. Pupils shared thoughtful and practical ideas, including increased signage to remind drivers that they are near a school and to encourage safe driving and parking. They also asked about the possible introduction of traffic cameras or wardens at the start and end of the school day.

The children proudly spoke about the Road Safety Assembly they had recently enjoyed in school and asked whether there are any free road safety workshops available that we could access to further educate pupils on how to walk to school safely,      particularly when near or crossing roads. They also highlighted the positive impact of having our crossing patrol staff in place, explaining how this has already made a real difference to the safety of our children and families.
