Year 6 Explore a Faith Trail!
Year 6 visited the Derby Open Centre on Tuesday to take part in a faith trail exploring a Hindu Mandir, a Sikh Gurdwara, and a Muslim Mosque. The trip gave children the chance to learn about different religions by visiting real places of worship, talking to people from a range of religions and asking questions. We experienced how a Hindu temple uses the five senses to create a calm place of reflection; we learnt about the Sikh tradition of Langar (serving free meals); and we discovered how Muslim children go to Mosque after school to learn to read the Qur'an. The visit helped children understand the similarities between faiths and the importance of respect, kindness, and community across different cultures.
