Year 4 Visit the Terrible Tudors!

Last week, the children embarked on a journey through time to visit the Tudor period. They were able to visit a real Tudor house in the centre of Stafford. Whilst there, they had the opportunity to dress up as rich and poor Tudors,   taking on different roles.  The rich Tudors inspected their servants and ordered them to bring drinks and food.  The children also had the chance to handle some artefacts and consider whether the items would belong to a rich or poor family.  Before lunch, as their stomachs rumbled, the children learnt about the foods that the Tudors would have eaten - some of them looked delicious and some of them, not so much!  Finally, they became Tudor builders, using willow branches to weave the structure of a house wall, then covering it with a mixture of wattle and daub.  The children behaved brilliantly and impressed everyone with their knowledge and enthusiasm for the Tudor period.
