Year 4 stepped back in time for a day of Tudor discovery at the Ancient High House, Stafford, bringing our Terrible Tudors mini adventure to a wonderful close! We opened the door to the past and immersed ourselves in a world of grand living and humble homes, explored a typical Tudor bedroom and even dressed the part in Tudor finery. We discovered how Tudor houses were built using traditional methods, before rolling up our sleeves to create our own miniature homes using wattle and daub. We explored the foods that filled Tudor tables and unpicked the lasting impact of Henry VIII’s reign, whose decisions changed the course of history. From the lives of the rich to the struggles of the poor, we uncovered the stories hidden within this fascinating period. What a fitting finale to our Tudor adventure — history truly came alive!
