Money Makes The World Go Round!

As part of our current Geography mini adventure, 'Money Makes the World Go Round', we have been investigating food miles and seasonality within the UK food market.

Year 6 researched recipes to find dishes where the ingredients could be locally sourced. We spent the morning preparing food, after practising safe knife skills, before inviting grandparents into school to sample the delicious dishes that we made. During our fantastic afternoon, grandparents were surprised and amazed to witness a 'flashmob' by the Year 6 children as they sang 'Hall of Fame'.

After sharing part of the 'Oh the Places You'll Go' poem, the children then spent the afternoon playing games and spending quality time with their grandparents, who were able to share life experiences to motivate and inspire the future generation.  We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon!
