Behind the Curtain!
Last week, the drama club took a trip to the Garrick Theatre to explore the backstage world of theatre. First, they were taken on a tour, where they got to experience what it would be like to be a performer at the Garrick. They discovered where costumes would be kept and cleaned; how actors would communicate with the stage while in their dressing rooms; and how the stage crew would run a show. After lunch, they took part in a workshop where they learned how actors warm up before a show by playing a variety of games. Once they were ready to perform, they wowed the Garrick staff with their own performance of 'The Three Little Pigs' that they have been working on at school. Working collaboratively, they evaluated their performances and made improvements. Their behaviour was exemplary, and we are very proud of them!
