Year 5 Rock in Robinwood!
Year 5 have had a fantastic time at Robinwood Activity Centre this week, where they have worked really hard to develop the Willows Way Values.
Throughout all of the activities that the children took part in, they had to use their team player skills to ensure that everyone could complete them successfully and safely. They have encouraged and supported each other too.
It has been amazing to see so many of our children push themselves and exceed their personal targets.
Problem solving skills have enabled them to complete puzzles, escape the Piranha Pool and Dungeon before it was too late!
They have shown a love of learning when discovering new skills or developing existing ones, such as canoeing, caving and tackling the climbing wall.
Confidence has played an important part whilst the children have been away too. They had to be risk takers for some of the more challenging activities (such as the challenge course and trapeze). Taking risks allowed them to achieve more than they thought they would and feel more confident as a result.
During team challenge, the children had to use their knowledge and creativity to solve puzzles and answer questions in order to win points. At the end of each day, they had to be reflective, thinking about what they had enjoyed and what they could improve on for the next activity. Their growing independence enabled them to prepare for each session and get themselves ready for bed and off to sleep each evening.
We are very proud of Year 5 and the way that they have represented Willows whilst we have been away. We hope that they have created many happy memories that they will treasure for years to come.
