Bonjour Paris!

Last week, children from Year 6 went on an unforgettable residential trip to Paris, and what an adventure it was!

Monday
We had a very early start, meeting at school at 3:00am! Although we were sleepy, everyone was excited for the journey ahead. We travelled by coach before taking a ferry across the English Channel. After arriving in France, we continued our journey to Château de Grand Romaine, where we settled in and enjoyed a delicious dinner before getting some well-earned rest.

Tuesday
Tuesday was packed with exciting activities! We visited the famous Eiffel Tower and even climbed up it, enjoying the amazing views across Paris. Afterwards, we had a delicious lunch at the base of the tower and saw the impressive Olympic rings. The afternoon involved a relaxing boat ride along the River Seine, where we spotted famous landmarks along the way, including the spectacular Notre Dame. Later, we had some time for shopping along the Champs-Élysées. After another tasty dinner back at the chateau, we had lots of fun making and tasting our own crêpes!

Wednesday
On Wednesday, we visited the beautiful Sacré-Cœur where we admired the stunning stained glass and paintings. On the steps of the church, we ate our lunch whilst looking out over the Parisian skyline. Later, we enjoyed a guided tour of the Stade de France, where we learned lots about sports and events held there. We went behind the scenes and walked along the same red carpet that welcomes footballers like Kylian Mbappé. We also visited the changing rooms and took part in a penalty shoot out in the warm-up room. Our tour ended with us walking out to the pitch through the players' tunnel. Back at the château, a  surprise awaited us - we could try snails! After our culinary explorations, we played team games, including a very exciting teachers vs children dodgeball match!

Thursday
Thursday was a magical day for everyone—Disneyland! The thrill-seekers headed to rides like Hyper Space Mountain, a high-speed race through space while others helped Buzz Lightyear defeat Evil Emperor Zurg in a laser blast battle. We secured front-row seats to two fantastic parades, and enjoyed a magical light show in the evening, where drones lit up the sky with shapes of our favourite Disney characters. There were also plenty of opportunities for grabbing snacks - like Mickey-shaped cookies; trading pin badges; and shopping for souvenirs throughout the day.

Friday
On Friday morning, we reluctantly packed up our things, had breakfast, and began our journey home. On the way back, we stopped for dinner at McDonald’s, which was a real treat!

Throughout the whole trip, the children were incredibly well behaved and represented the school brilliantly. Everyone had an amazing time and made memories that will last a lifetime!

What a fantastic trip to Paris!
